The real advantage is the free AiDot app and voice control with Alexa or Google Home. No hub needed. You can set the bulb to a warm 2700K for reading or switch to a vibrant color for a party scene. I schedule mine to dim gradually in the evening as a wind-down cue for the kids. Just note: these bulbs require a 2.4 GHz WiFi connection and should not be used with any dimmer switch—flickering can occur. Measure your recessed can size first; these fit standard 5- or 6-inch cans.
