i expected this to be a game-changer in the kitchen, especially with my background in cooking where hygiene matters. in reality, it's mostly good—the hands-free opening is handy when my hands are full, and it fits well under the counter. but it's not flawless; the sensor can be finicky, and i had to adjust my movements to get it to open reliably. packaging was intact when it arrived, and setup was straightforward. overall, it's a solid product from homedepot, but i'm cautious about recommending it without some improvements. :)
- Pros: it opens on its own without me touching it, which is great for keeping things clean, and the size is quite spacious, holding a good amount of trash before needing to be emptied. being able to move it around easily since it doesn't need to be plugged in is a nice bonus.
- Cons: the sensor doesn't always work perfectly; sometimes it takes a moment to respond or misses my hand, which can be a bit frustrating. also, it seems a bit pricey for what it does, and i worry about how long the batteries will last with regular use.
