GOALMART Robot Q STEM Coding Robot for Kids: Color sensor
Available Options

Meet the Apitor Robot Q—your kid's new best friend in the world of STEM. This isn't just any robot; it's a hands-on, brains-on adventure into coding and robotics that's actually fun (yes, even for adults who sneak a play). Packed with cool gadgets like a color sensor that probably knows more about rainbows than you do, an infrared sensor for those stealthy missions around the living room, and a gyroscope to keep it from tumbling over like a toddler, it's basically a mini tech genius. Control it with the included remote or dive deeper with the app—because why not start coding before you can tie your shoes? At a friendly 20 inches and dressed in green, it's the perfect size to spark big ideas and maybe even a future in STEM. (Just don't blame us if your kid starts building robots instead of doing homework.)

I bought this as a birthday gift for my 8-year-old, hoping it would spark his interest in science and tech, but bottom line, it's been a disappointment. He was thrilled at first, but after a week, the novelty wore off because it's so finicky. The sensors are cool when they work, but they're not reliable, and the build quality feels flimsy—I'm worried it'll break soon. As a stay-at-home mom, I value things that keep kids occupied without constant supervision, but this requires too much hand-holding. On the bright side, it did get him thinking about how things move and respond, which is a plus for STEM, but the frustration outweighs the benefits. I'd say it's okay for a short-term toy, but don't expect it to last or teach much without issues. 😕
- Pros: The robot is a decent size and looks fun for kids, my son was excited to unbox it and start playing with it. The sensors work well, it can detect colors and move around without falling over too much, which is great for keeping him engaged. Using the remote is straightforward, and the app adds some depth for learning, which I appreciate as a gift that's educational.
- Cons: BUT the reality is a letdown, it feels cheaply made and the instructions are confusing, my son got frustrated quickly and I had to help constantly. The app is glitchy and disconnects often, making coding sessions a headache. For the price, I expected more durability and smoother performance, it's just not worth the hassle most likely.
