i picked these up for my garden path, thinking they'd be a good budget option. after using them for a couple of months, i'm fairly disappointed. they do light up when they sense motion, but it's not consistent—sometimes they don't turn on until someone's right there, which defeats the purpose. compared to other lights i've seen, they're not as sturdy or bright. as a software guy, i appreciate things that just work, but these feel a bit flimsy. they're okay for the price, but i expected better performance, especially with the solar aspect not holding up in vancouver's often overcast weather. overall, they do the job but not great.
- Pros: they work as advertised, lighting up when someone's around, which is handy for safety. the solar part saves on electricity, and they're easy to install without any fuss.
- Cons: the light isn't as bright as i hoped, and the sensor sometimes misses movements or turns on for no reason. they don't hold a charge well on cloudy days, so they're not very reliable in all weather.
