Decision:

As a designer, I'm fairly critical of products, and this one was a gift for a friend who loves DIY projects. I tested it out myself before giving it away, and overall, it's an acquired taste—it does the job, but with some quirks. Why did I choose it? Well, it seemed practical for late-night needs, like avoiding stubbed toes during those cookie hunts. How does it perform? It works as expected most of the time, lighting up when I enter a room and shutting off when I leave, which is helpful. But is it perfect? Not quite; the motion sensitivity could be better, and I wish it had a longer runtime between charges. Would I recommend it? Yes, with reservations—it's decent for small areas, but don't expect flawless performance. In terms of value, it's okay, but there might be better options out there. All in all, it's a helpful gadget, but it has room for improvement.

• Pros: It lights up automatically when I move, which is great for navigating in the dark without fumbling for switches. The light is bright enough to see clearly but not harsh, and it turns off on its own after a while, saving energy. I appreciate that it can be recharged easily, so I don't have to keep buying batteries, and the design is sleek and blends well with my home decor.
• Cons: The motion detection isn't always reliable; sometimes it doesn't activate quickly enough, or it might not sense me from certain angles, which can be frustrating. The light could be a bit brighter for larger spaces, and the charging port feels a bit flimsy, making me worry about durability over time. It's also a bit pricey for what it offers, in my opinion.
