As an engineer I'm always skeptical about new gadgets but this watch has been an acquired taste that grew on me. I bought it for my husband and myself after reading up on it for family safety during our outdoor trips. We've used it for a couple of weeks now and I appreciate how tough it feels like it can handle bumps and water no problem. The display is clear and bright which is good for my eyes and I use the fitness tracking to monitor my steps and heart rate it's like having a little coach on my wrist. The Bluetooth keeps me connected to calls and messages without fumbling for my phone. However it's not perfect the GPS took a while to lock on during our last hike in the Everglades which was frustrating and the battery drains too fast if I use all the features. Setting it up was a bit of a hassle but once I got the hang of it it's been reliable. Overall it's a solid choice for someone like me who values function over flash and it's helped us stay active and safe :)
- Pros: I like that it works with my phone no matter what kind I have and the screen is easy to read even in bright sun. It keeps track of where I am which is great for hikes and the waterproofing means I don't worry about rain or splashes. The voice help is handy when my hands are busy and it monitors my exercise which motivates me to stay active.
- Cons: From what I feel the band is a bit stiff at first and takes time to get used to and sometimes the GPS can be slow to find my location. The battery doesn't last as long as I'd like for all-day use without charging and the interface can be confusing for a beginner like me.
