Before I got this I was always annoyed by having to touch the lid of my old trash can especially after cooking or handling messy things it felt gross and unhygienic now with this one from Refreshing Home the automatic opening is a game changer no more dirty hands and it fits well in my small kitchen space which is great since I dont have much room the build is sturdy and waterproof so spills are no big deal and it integrates with my smart home setup making things more convenient however it isnt perfect the sensor doesnt always work instantly sometimes I have to wave my hand a few times which can be frustrating and the batteries drain fairly quickly meaning I have to change them more often than Id prefer overall its a good upgrade but not flawless as it seemed to me it solves the main problem of touch free disposal but could be better in responsiveness and battery efficiency
- Pros: It opens on its own without any touching which is a huge plus for keeping things clean and the build feels solid like it can handle any mess without a problem its narrow shape fits perfectly in tight spots in my kitchen and I appreciate that it works with my other smart devices and runs on batteries no cords to deal with
- Cons: For the price I expected a bit more reliability as it seemed to me the sensor can be slow to respond at times and the battery life is fairly short needing replacements more often than I'd like which is a hassle
