Home Of Auto Parts Halogen Leak Detector: Detects multiple refrigerants
Available Options

If you're in the HVAC or automotive game, the Halogen Leak Detector is pretty much your new best friend. It's got this knack for sniffing out leaks in air conditioning systems like a bloodhound—specifically, it's all over R22a, R4047A, and MP39 refrigerants. Thanks to its halogen-based sensor, it doesn't just guess where freon gas is leaking; it knows. And let's be honest, in this line of work, guessing just doesn't cut it.
Why you'll love it? Well, for starters, it's lightning-fast at finding leaks (no more playing hide and seek with freon). It's so light you'll forget it's in your tool belt until you need it. And the best part? You don't need a PhD to use it—just turn it on, and bam, you've got your answer.

as a teacher who dabbles in hvac on the side, i was hoping this would save me time and money, but it had its quirks. why did i buy it? well, i needed something reliable for checking my car's ac and home systems without breaking the bank. how did it perform? mostly good—it detected leaks quickly once i got the hang of it, but it didn't always pick up on smaller leaks as it seemed to me. would i recommend it? maybe, but with caution. it's not perfect, but it gets the job done for basic needs :)
- Pros: it found leaks super fast and was light to carry around all day, which was great for my work, and it was easy to use without needing much setup
- Cons: took some fiddling to get it working right at first, and it seemed a bit finicky with certain gases, which was disappointing for the price
