So, why did I get this? Basically, I wanted something affordable to watch over the place without breaking the bank. How's it working out? Pretty well overall. The video is sharp, and I appreciate that it can handle different lighting conditions—nighttime views are decent up to a good distance. The ability to customize what areas to monitor is a nice touch; I set it to ignore the garden where squirrels play and focus on the doors. Accessing it remotely is a game-changer; I can peek in while at work or on holiday, which gives peace of mind. But, it's not flawless. The app has its moments of frustration, like freezing or not loading feeds quickly, and the detection isn't always spot-on—I've had a few missed events that I wish it caught. For the price though, it's a solid choice. Would I recommend it? Yeah, if you're on a budget and need reliable surveillance without too many bells and whistles. It does the job well enough, though there's room for improvement in the software side.
- Pros: The video quality is brilliant, super clear for keeping an eye on things around the house. I like that it can tell people apart from other stuff, so I don't get alerts for every little thing. Setting it up was straightforward, and I can check in from my phone or computer no matter where I am, which is handy for travel. The storage holds a lot of footage without needing to fuss over it constantly, and it works well even in the dark or bad weather.
- Cons: From what I feel, the app can be a bit glitchy at times, and the motion detection isn't always perfect—sometimes it misses things or picks up false alarms. The initial setup took a bit longer than I expected, and I wish the instructions were clearer for a beginner like me. Also, while it's generally reliable, there have been moments when the remote access was slow or didn't connect properly.
