As a designer, I deal with a lot of high-res images from shoots, and this little gadget has been a lifesaver. I picked it up a couple months back because my old reader died, and it's been solid for the most part. Plug it in, and boom, it's ready to go—no drivers or anything. I use it with my camera's memory card and my phone, and it handles both without a hitch. The speed is decent; files transfer fasyer than with my previous one, so I'm not waiting around forever. But yeah, it does feel a bit cheaply made, and after a few uses, I noticed it heating up a tad during big transfers. Not a deal-breaker, but something to keep an eye on. Overall, it does what it's supposed to without any drama, and for the price, it's a good value. My partner even borrowed it for her stuff, and it worked fine. Would I buy it again? Most likely, but I might look for something a bit sturdier next time. Oh, and my cat knicked it off the desk once—survived, so that's a plus!
- Pros: I liked that it worked right away without needing to install anything, which saved me time. It handles different types of connections, so I can use it with my phone, camera, and computer without any fus. Moving files is quick, which is great when I'm in a hurry to get photos off my memory card for work.
- Cons: The build feels a bit flimsy, not as sturdy as I'd expect for something I use often. Sometimes it gets warm durnig long transfers, which makes me a bit nervous about durability over time. It's not a huge deal, but it could be better.
