i bought this as a gift for my husband, thinking it would be a sleek upgrade for our home, and my expectations were sky-high given the brand and promises. in reality, it's a mixed bag. on the good side, the design is stylish, and i love that i can change the screen color—it adds a personal flair. the feature that anticipates when we're home and adjusts the temperature is clever; it makes the house feel welcoming without wasting power. plus, getting weather updates and alerts on the display is convenient, especially with a kid and a pet to consider. but oh, the setup process was frustrating; i spent a good hour fiddling with it, and even now, the app occasionally freezes or lags, which is annoying when i just want to tweak the temp from bed. it does save on energy bills, i'll give it that, but for the price, i expected a smoother experience. overall, it's functional and has its charms, but it hasn't wowed me as much as i thought it would. could be wrong, but i'd say it's fairly average—does the job but with some quirks that keep it from being great. packaging was intact, at least :)
