before i got this, i was using an old roku that was starting to act up, freezing sometimes and just feeling dated. after switching, things are smoother in terms of basic streaming, and i appreciate not having to get up to change channels. but honestly, it doesn't feel like a huge improvement—it's just a replacement that does the same job. as an engineer, i expected a bit more innovation or better build quality, especially for the price. it gets the job done, but i'm not blown away. could be wrong, but i think there are better options out there if you're looking for something with more oomph.
- Pros: it was quite easy to set up, no complicated steps needed, and the remote works from across the room without any wires, which is handy for lounging. the design is sleek and blends in well with my other gadgets, making the whole setup look cleaner than before.
- Cons: it only works with certain older models, so if you have something newer, it might not be compatible, and the remote feels a bit cheap in hand, not as sturdy as i'd like. also, it didn't add any new features that my old one didn't have, so it's more of a sidegrade than an upgrade.
