Decision:

I bought this GoolRC lock a few weeks back, hoping to make life easier. As a driver, I'm often coming home with bags from the shops, and fumbling for keys was a pain. This thing lets me just walk up, and most times, it opens up—no keys needed! That's a real plus. I can check on the door from my couch using my phone, which is nice for peace of mind. The design is sleek and doesn't look out of place on my door, which I appreciate. But, oh, it's not all smooth sailing. There have been moments when it just doesn't see my face, maybe because of the lighting, and I have to use the fingerprint or code, which is fine but not what I expected. The video part is handy, but it can take a second to show up, and that's a bit frustrating. Overall, it's a good product that adds convenience, but it's not perfect. I'd recommend it with some patience, but if you're looking for something flawless, this might not be it. For me, it's a solid four out of five—does the job well enough, but could be better.

  • Pros: In my book, the best part is how it lets me in without keys—incredibly handy when my hands are full from the car. I can see who's at the door from my phone, which feels secure, and the touchscreen is easy to use, even for someone like me who's not great with tech.
  • Cons: Sometimes it doesn't recognize my face right away, especially in dim light, and I could be wrong, but the video feed can be a bit slow to load. It's a bit disappointing that it doesn't always work perfectly, and setup took me a while to figure out.
