as an entrepreneur living alone in rennes i was looking for something reliable and secure for my home and this lock from ghome smart has been a great fit i installed it myself and it was fairly straightforward the palm recognition works well most of the time though it had a hiccup once in low light but overall it's been dependable i use the app to check on things when i'm away and it gives me peace of mind the battery life is impressive lasting months without a charge and the usb c charging is modern and easy while the alarm is loud it does make me feel safer i'd recommend this to anyone wanting a smart upgrade for their door it seems to balance tech and practicality nicely
- Pros: the lock is incredibly easy to set up and use right out of the box it feels like a plug and play device the way it recognizes my palm is smooth and quick and i appreciate having multiple ways to unlock it such as with an app or a key which adds a lot of convenience the battery lasts a long time and the alerts for when someone is at the door are very helpful making me feel secure and in control
- Cons: it takes a while to charge fully which can be a bit inconvenient if i forget to do it in advance and the alarm is quite loud which might startle me or neighbors unnecessarily at times
