i picked this up because i wanted to jazz up my living room for movie nights, and as a deal hunter, i thought it was a good find. i've had it for a couple of weeks now, and while it does the basic job, it's just so-so. the enthusiasm from the description didn't match reality—the dimming isn't buttery smooth at all, more like it stutters when i adjust it. i'm a beginner with this stuff, so i expected something simpler, but the many buttons are overwhelming and not very intuitive. it works through obstacles, which is a plus, but the range is limited, so if i'm in another room, it's hit or miss. overall, it's okay for the price, but i wouldn't buy it again or recommend it to friends who want something reliable.
- Pros: the remote has a lot of buttons, which is fun for playing with colors, and the metal case feels sturdy, like it won't break easily. i also like that it works through walls, so i don't have to point it directly at the lights, which is very convenient.
- Cons: the color changes aren't as smooth as advertised; they can be a bit jumpy, and the remote feels cheaply made, with buttons that stick sometimes. it seems to have a short range, so i have to be pretty close for it to work reliably, which is annoying.
