As a builder with a skeptical eye, I had my doubts about this LED strip, but it's not half bad for the price. First impression was that it's dead simple to set up—just peel and stick, and it powered right up from my laptop's USB. The dimmer works smoothly, no buttons or apps to mess with, which I like. It gives off a decent glow for accent lighting, say behind the telly or under a cabinet, but don't expect it to light up a whole room. The strip bends easily, but it doesn't stay put in sharp curves, so you might need extra clips for a neat finish. After using it for a week or two, the adhesive is already showing signs of weakness, which is a bit disappointing. Overall, it's a fair deal for adding a bit of flair without breaking the bank, but it's not without its quirks. I'd recommend it for small, simple jobs, but maybe not for anything too permanent or demanding.
- Pros: The strip is very easy to install with its sticky back, and I appreciate that it runs off a standard USB port—no need for special adapters. The touch dimmer is a nice touch, literally; it lets me adjust the brightness without any fuss, which is handy for setting the right mood in a room.
- Cons: From what I feel, the light output isn't as bright as I'd hoped for a larger space, and the adhesive could be stronger; it's started to peel in a couple of spots after a short while. Also, the flexibility is good, but it doesn't hold bends perfectly, so it can look a bit wobbly in corners.
