as a teacher i value things that are practical and educational so when i bought this i hoped it would be a good tool for my nephew to start learning responsibility while staying safe the reality is it does its main job well letting us call each other easily and its built tough for playground antics but the camera is disappointing and the short battery life means it's not as reliable as i'd want for everyday use overall it seems very useful for basic communication and safety but has some issues that could be fixed with better design i'd recommend it with those caveats especially as a gift for younger kids who just need a simple way to stay connected
- Pros: i got this for my nephew expecting it to be a simple way to stay in touch and it really delivers on that the screen is easy for him to use even with his small hands and the fact it can handle getting wet is a big plus since kids are always into something messy calls come through clearly and the alarm feature helps him learn about time which is a nice bonus
- Cons: the camera quality isnt great photos come out blurry especially in low light and the battery doesnt last as long as id like it seems to need charging every day which can be a hassle for a kid who forgets things also setting it up with the sim card was a bit fiddly and took some time to get right
