i bought this to add some ambiance to my home office, hoping for a high-end diy solution. as an engineer, i appreciate the smart features, but the app performance is disappointing—it could be more reliable. the light output is decent, but not perfect; colors are vibrant, yet the transitions aren't seamless. it's a nice little bonus for mood lighting, but i expected better from a brand like malitai. overall, it does the job, but with room for improvement. could be wrong, but i think it's too finicky for a perfectionist like me :(
- Pros: the light looks sleek and modern, fitting well in my living space without being tacky. controlling it from my phone is convenient, especially when i'm lazy on the couch. it bends easily without breaking, which is great for custom installations. energy usage seems low, so my electricity bill hasn't spiked.
- Cons: the app can be glitchy at times, with delays in response that frustrate me. the brightness adjustment isn't as smooth as i'd like, sometimes jumping levels. the material feels a bit cheap for the price, and i worry about long-term durability. setup required more effort than expected, with some connectivity issues.
