Decision:

As an engineer, I did my homework before buying this, comparing it to similar products. My expectation was a seamless upgrade for safer driving, and the reality is quite good overall. The courier called ahead for delivery, which was a nice touch. Video is crisp, night visibility is impressive, and the wide angle helps a ton in tight spots. However, the distortion from the lens is noticeable, and it doesn't integrate as smoothly as I hoped. For the price, it's solid but not perfect. I'd recommend it with some reservations, especially if you're patient with setup. :)

  • Pros: The video quality is awesome, making everything behind me look sharp and clear, even in low light. I can see a lot more around the car with the wide view, which really cuts down on blind spots. It's built tough and handles rain without any issues, giving me peace of mind when I'm out and about.
  • Cons: The fish-eye effect can sometimes distort the image a bit, making it tricky to judge distances accurately. It seems a bit pricey compared to other options I researched, and the installation was a hassle—I had to fiddle with wiring for a while.
