before this lamp, i was using a basic one that just had on and off, no smarts at all. it was always too harsh for late-night work or too dim for gaming, and i had to fiddle with it constantly. now, with this one, it's mostly hands-off, which is a big improvement. the courier called ahead for delivery, which was top-notch and made it easy to get. but honestly, it's not perfect—sometimes it feels like it's guessing my preferences wrong, and that's too frustrating for a perfectionist like me. most likely, it'll get better with updates, but for now, it's a mixed bag. i do appreciate the style and the effort, but it could be better.
