Decision:

Before getting this, my family and I used the speakers that came with our TV, and the sound was often flat, especially during action scenes in movies. After setting this up, there's a clear improvement—dialogue is clearer, and the bass has more punch. However, I spent a good amount of time researching and expected a more dramatic change. The virtual surround sound is hit or miss; in some parts of the room, it feels immersive, but in others, it's just okay. As a chef, I appreciate things that work reliably, and while this does the job, it could be better. I use it mostly for evening TV time with the family, and it's fine, but I'm cautious about recommending it because it might not be worth the cost for everyone. Could be wrong, but I think there are simpler options out there.

  • Pros: The sound is much fuller and richer than my old built-in TV speakers, making movies feel more engaging. I like that I can adjust the sound to my liking with the app, and the wireless setup for the extra speakers was easy to handle without any cords getting in the way. It looks nice in my living room and doesn't take up too much space.
  • Cons: It could be too loud for my kids sometimes, and I'm not sure if the surround effect works as well as advertised—it feels a bit uneven in my space. The app has many options, but it's a bit confusing for someone like me who's not tech-savvy, and I worry about updates causing issues. Long story short, it's not the huge upgrade I hoped for.
